The iPad is still one of the most popular consumer electronics on the planet, and somehow, it will get even better. Rumors are swirling that a second-generation iPad Mini with Retina Display is scheduled to be launched sooner than the typical yearly release. Apple is also reportedly working set to release a new full-size iPad according to its semiannual release date sechedule.

The iPad 5 release date rumors started at Macotakara, a popular Japanese technology blog. "According to my inside source, iPad(5th) may be released in March, 2013.?Source told that, design of this new iPad will be like iPad mini in detail, and be thinner and lightweight.?(The expectation comes to have a small 4mm in height, 17mm in width, depth 2mm," reported Macotakara.

In addition to the Macotakara report, Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White thinks there's reason to believe that the iPad 5 release date will be coming soon. ?"Our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini this March. The iPad 5 is expected to be lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 that was released in October, while the form factor of the iPad mini should be similar to the first generation iPad mini that debuted in October," White wrote.

Apple's first three generations of iPads were released in March and April. Evidence is already surmounting that suggests the next generation of the iPad will be released during these months.

Despite dozens of reports that have been published alleging that Apple will soon release an iPad Mini with Retina Display in addition to a fifth generation iPad, very little is known about either device in terms of hardware. There's a strong chance that the iPad Mini will mostly remain the same while adding only the beautiful Retina Display screen. The full-sized fifth-generation iPad is likely to be lighter and thinner, but it's still unclear whether the processor will be more powerful than Apple's A6X processor. Thankfully, we don't have to wait long to find out.
